I could not tell what she was doing but just sat there and waited until she eventually pulled in, got her ticket and went into the depths of the garage. Well, there ended up being two parking spaces right in the entrance only one space apart. She parked in the one and I parked in the other.
As I got out of my car, the lady approached me and said, " Thank you for not honking at me...I am sorry it took me so long to go and most people would have been going crazy." I gave her my card and said "I have to practice what I preach." We spoke as we walked on the way out and she expressed an interest in what I had to say about being more at ease with life.
I went away from the whole thing with a big smile on my face because I know in the past I would have been muttering under my breath about waiting etc.. .
So, in the end, it does not take long to change even the most ingrained reactionary behaviours with an "allowing space" of conscious non-reaction...and you might just have more people thank you for being your real self.
