Death of the Newyears resolution!

AHH yes, it has hit that time once again. . .already people are falling off the proverbial wagon and failing to show up for their nutrition sessions. . .You could blame it on the recession (funny, none of my friends are going out any less or spending less) or, or, or. . . .hmmm. I boil it down to a few things actually.

1. Newyears resolutions are just that, a resolution someone makes at a time of year they are usually feeling down or down about what they look or feel like. ie. by themselves at a party where they don't know anyone for example.
2. Motivation is high at the start but when reality kicks in, they usually find that they can't continue because that diet book they bought doesn't have all the answers and can't tell them what to do if the results stop happening.
3. Even with the motivation in # 2, they lack the knowledge to fully implement and then carry out the plan in a step by step, efficient way.
4. They don't have a good support system going. If your partener (if you have one) or family (if you live at home still) is not supportive and there is crap all over the place that is not in sync with your new eating habits (notice I didn't say diet?) They are going to be eventually overcome by cravings and also in many cases, the partner and/or family deliberately saboutage the well meaning and initially very motivated person. "oh come on, just one won't hurt etc."
5. They are not combining the eating lifestyle change with an exercise regime. Even walking for 30 min 5 times a week is better than nothing and will speed up results and how you feel in a big way!

That's it for today for me:)
Happy eating and exercising!
