- I don't have enough time - wow, what a cop out. I always go back to the example of my friend who is an MD and has 2 (TWO) clinics that are an hours drive apart. . .he goes to both on 2 days of the week and works 6-7 days per week. .AND he does housecalls! He also hits 6 days per week of at least an hour working out. . .and eats 5 meals per day. So, get out of your little world and make the time!
- It's too hard - Learning anything new is "more difficult" at first. But once you have done the learning curve and made it a habit, you won't even be able to tell what you were whining about in the first place. People do tend to make it more difficult though when they have kids that they "cater" to and/ or a spouse who is sabotaging them by asking for different food. Get everyone on board and cook only one type of food for everyone and you will find that you are just as fast after the first initial stage when it was "new."
- My family won't eat that - who is buying and making the food? When a parent comes into my office and actually says this, I am overjoyed! Get with it people, you are the boss and your kids don't pay for the groceries. They will also quickly get used to the new food if you take the time to learn to cook. Even this caveman can make a mean stir-fry, chicken wings and a few other tasty treats. . .you should try my beef medalions in cabernet reduction..never thought I would say that!
- The meals are always the same. . .I'm bored - Learn to cook. See above in #3. I did not know how to cook but I am currently learning and it is FUN. Just be sure you have all the right utensils and tools and it will be much easier. So many people look at athletes and sports figures and wonder why they can't look like that. Well, apart from the tremendous training, those people eat the same stuff every day. .day in and day out for the most part. You as a regular person just getting into decent shape does not have to do this.With just a moderate amount of dedication and learning, you anyone can be a decent cook.
